1G rear upgrade?

Ive heard you can upgrade the rear diff of a 1G with a newer style. More bolts? Ive also heard people refer to this as a conversion? Are these the same upgrades or different ways to achive the same goal. I dont want to break anything during a hard launch and would upgrade if possible.

if you are going to be lauching hard you better look in to upgrading your center diff. because if you brake something in the rear you are putting alot of strain on the center diff trust me i know
