getting trans work done

is there any mods that are trans related that would be easy and cheap to put in but the installation cost is mostly labor to open it up. I am in need of some trans work and since im spendin 500 bucks for them to go in there, might be a good idea. I might be out in left field but hey ya never know. *example of what im talkin about* lets say ur geting a timing belt done and you have cam gears put on just cause its already all opened, that sort of thing.

automatic or stick?
 
what are you getting done??? Seeing as you have an NT I don't think you'll be making enough power to break anything but double 2nd and 3rd gear synchros are always a good idea....
