Ok, so I sent the clutch off to ACT. They replaced the PP and resurfaced the disc. I asked for the 2100 lb PP this time because my thrust bearings keep failing.
Examining the disc and broken fingers you can see that the fingers made contact with the disc springs (wearing out the yellow paint the the disc springs). This could have also lead to the thrust bearing failures.
So it looks like the failure was due to improper clutch adjustment. The Fork/TOB were traveling too far and made the PP fingers touch the spring.
To be honest, that was probably my bad and I'm surprised that ACT warrantied it.
Anyways, I'll be putting in the new PP soon and I want to make sure I adjust the clutch properly.
I've read RRE's clutch tech info and watched Jack's Transmission video on the subject but I want more input and advice.
Please chime in if you have experience with clutch adjustment and can offer some advice.
Thanks all,
Tom
