Ok so about a month ago the auto went out on me, ever since I got the car the plan was to do a 5speed swap so this seemed like the perfect opportunity.

I've been looking around on CL for trannies and found a few from 1g's for a pretty good price, now I remember reading something about the 2g's having 2 tranny mounts and the 1g only having one but it also said you can put a 2g bell housing on it and it works out fine. Could I use my 2g a/t bell housing on a 1g m/t?

Also what clutch would you guys recommend? I am on a pretty tight budget so I can't get all top of the line stuff, yet.

Anyways here is my part checklist for it, does it look good to you guys?

-Tranny w/slave & speedo on it
-New front M/T axles
-Pedals, shifter, shifter cables, and master cylinder
-Flywheel
-Starter
-Clutch line/fluid
-Motor mount brackets
-Clutch

Thanks in advance:hellyeah:

Also how much more do you think it would cost me if i were to go for the AWD swap?

I was able to put a 1g transmission in my 2g only cause I have a 6bolt engine. Don't even try the bell housing swap if you are going from a/t to m/t. You are gonna have a hard time getting that to swap in with a 7bolt. I would say you should go for a 2g trans, the cost may offset the PITA install.

An auto bellhousing will not fit on a m/t. If you find a 2g bellhousing you will need to reshim the transmission to install it. You are better off finding a 2g transmission.
