After owning my talon for close to 2 years now, i thought I would have all the tranny problems that I read so much about throught the DSM forums. But when I least exspected there went my tranny. So now I am trying to figure out a good resonably priced place on having it rebuilt. I am now chosing between the more known BM Trany and TRE. I really want to go with TRE because they seem to offer more, but the only down side is that there is that I actually like to talk to someone on the phone before I send my tranny half way across the U.S So I am now leaning towards BM, but they don't tell alot about what the offer on there website. I really like the way that TRE just puts it all out on their site just so I can kind of plan what set up I want to go with. I am sure either way I go I won't regret it, but I am just trying to get a little input from the ones who have been through this before me. My main concerns are cutomer service, turn aroun time, and pricing (In that exact order) So if anyone had any recomendations or if there is a shop that you recomend that does just as good of work please get back to me. All advice is appreciated.

God I wish I had the answer, as I'll be in the market for a good tranny rebuild soon too. Anyone that has FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE with either of these shops, please respond. None of this, "I heard this one's good" please - cause I've heard they're both good already. We need details.

Well after all of the research I came up with, I just decided to go and get the my tranny pulled apart by a local shop and have then tell me everything I needed. Then I got everything from BM Tranny. I will say one thing after I called BM they had an invoice faxed over to me with the prices with in minutes. So now all I am waiting for is shipping time. Now I am just hoping the guy at this shop really is as good as he says he is, but I guess I will find out? I have just one last question for anyone in here, the guy at the shop said I need a need a new speed sensor housing that will be a part of the bell housing that I ordered right? Let me know if anyone has the answers.

BM is BM Tranny and TRE is Team Rip Engineering. Both excellent shops. I know the guys at BM Tranny and they have their sh!t together. Theyalso have an AWD dyno to boot. Basically a full service shop, specializing in trannies. Jeff Hill, among others, run their trannies, and all of them have 11 second cars or better. TRE, I have never dealt with, but know people who have and again, top notch products and workmanship. Can't go wrong with either one.

I have a TRE tranny and I love it. The turn around times aren't great. Customer service seems good so far(haven't really needed it yet, thank god). Pricing I think they are a little bit more expensive than BM. I've been told that the TRE is worth the extra $ and wait over the BM by alot of people. I personally don't have any experince with BM but I've heard there turn around times are great.
