Hey guys

i have been searching and can't find an answer, i know the rear ends have different gear ratios but are you able to use a manual rear end in an automatic car? The reason i am asking this is b/c i am looking heavily into putting an automatic into my car and that's the only detail which i not finding much info about

thank you

You just answered your own question.

Automatic and Manual have different gear ratios so the answer is no, you cannot run it in your car. Manual with Manual and Auto with Auto.

i know the rear ends have different gear ratios
Not only are the rear ends different ratios, the front diff is a different ratio, and, I believe, the x-fer case is a different ratio, too.

In order for AWD to work properly all four wheels must be driven at the same speeds. That won't happen if you mix manual/auto gear ratios in the front, rear, center or x-fer case.

That's also why the tires must all be the same diameter, too!
