Car shaking...CV joints..My symptoms
Okay, from searching a bunch of threads i've found all sorts of threads that were never resolved from alignments to CV joint replacements. I know my CV's are old and beat up, but don't want to start spending money on the wrong parts since no other were marked resolved.
My car will shake mainly in 3rd gear starting at about 2500 RPM through 4k where it gets quite a bit less noticeable.
If i'm steady state driving in those areas it doens't shake at all, but the harder i accelerate the harder the car shakes. I'm hoping there's nothing farked up in the transmission and that's my real concern and reason for posting this instead of just ripping it apart and replacing the CV's which i know are worn out (the right one came in two pieces the last time i had the suspension off putting my lowering springs on.
The shaking has gotten worse over time, starting out very light when i first got the car back together from a BSE, Camshaft install, Tokico+lower sping install and T.R.E. tranny install all at once. It has progressively gotten worse over the last 8 months to where it scares me to put any load on the engine/trans at that gear and RPM.
Any thoughts, Does this sound like the typical CV shaking (never felt it before) or is there possibly something in the trans causing it?

To check for wear on the outer CVs grab the cup with one hand and the hub with the other. Twist the cup back and forth and see if there is any clicking or play in the joint. Don't use the rotor, it can slide on the hub. While testing it this way the boot will try and fight you but you can overpower it, or just remove a clamp temporarily and pull the boot back on one end.

You can't feel it in the steering wheel, you just watch everything shake and you can hear a rattle in teh dash pretty good.
As for my CV boots, they aren't even in one piece and the CV's are shot, but they don't click, i was gonna run them into the grave or until they started clicking,
A side note...after making this post i've went on a few drives and it seems to do it ever other drive or 2 out of 3 drives..the last one i went on it shook, but barely...the first drive it barely shook, and then the 2 middle drives it shook horribly (just trips to teh store or a friends house tyoe drives)

This is quite interesting. I have a similar problem, but i can narrow mine down. Its kinda funny actually. When it rains, i guess since my motor mounts are so crappy, the engine and tranny literally move and cause the whole car the vibrate anytime im on the gas or letting the engine come down the rpm range. I have to be on the gas just slightly in order to keep it from shaking really bad. How are your motor mounts? I can feel my engine and tranny nowadays also move and it feels like the wheels are going to fall off. But its just the motor shifting around. Kinda scary, but it stays put most of the times. and you know when its where its suppose to be.
