Tranny cracked

Took my transmission off to change the clutch and noticed when it was on my garage floor that it has a small crack in it around one of the bolts that hold it to the engine. It looks like if i pulled on it or something it would break that whole bit off so it worries me. Could i take it to a shop somewhere and just get it welded back solid or something or should i start investigating new trannys?

Cast aluminium can be welded just fine with TIG welded. Find a good welding shop and they should be able to do it for little or no money.

Should be able to have it welded.. just make sure they drill out the end of the crack so it does'nt open up again. prol cracked from over-torking (like our valve covers love to do).
