well i recently just got a new clutch. After about 50 miles it started to squeel/chatter. It happens when the clutch pedal is pressed down. Its not a belt, thats for sure. After the car is warmed the noise is totally gone. Again this only happens when the pedal is pressed. My boys said its probably just like the TOB and when it gets warmed its gone? any clues last time i had this noise one of the springs on my pressure plate jumped out after 1k miles. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!!

If its chattering, it sounds like it could be a pressure plate issue.

You could pull the inspection cover and make sure nothing is loose, maybe reach your hand up and see if you can feel the pressure plate fingers and make sure nothing is wrong.

yes its a slight chatter, but like i said only when the car is parked over night and the car is cold. when driving throughout its normal as can be.

hmm i highly doubt its an oem one, so if thats the case would it be a problem?

ok so besides the squeeling will i be ok i can deal with that noise i just dont want things coming apart. The shop did give me a TOB and I know its not oem.

Another cause for TOB squealing under pedal depression, is from overextending the clutch causing additional load on the TOB. You can fix this by adjusting the clutch throw at the clutch master cylinder rod; turning it outward, causing you to extend the master cylinder rod less.

Here is a picture for your reference. Undo the 12mm lock nut, and thread the rod counter-clockwise (so the rod goes toward the pedal), then retighten the lock nut. It will require a little fine tuning (clockwise or counter-clockwise depending on each application until the noise goes away, along with the proper clutch pedal engagement).

This should help you with your problems. Good luck!

EXACTLY. I had the exact same issue. When you adjust that rod the noise SHOULD go away. And BTW I had this noise with a brand new OEM TOB so just a little FYI.

but the noise for you guys go away after the car was warmed up? because thats what happens with me only when its cold there is a noise. and lately its been warm and the noise goes away alot faster if you think thats it ill try it.
