I have a 97 gst at. It was recently lowered and had the shaking, vibration when accelerating. After replacing the driveshafts with reman ones most of the shaking has subsided. When I'm cruising and it doesn't matter what gear it's in, I can feel a slight shutter coming from the front of the car. Feels like the driver side. It will do it when the boost starts coming on. Pretty much any time there is strain on the drivline. Does it around turns too, but there is no decel vibes. If I really get on it it does it a little and then totally disappears above 4500K. Also I've noticed when under the car that there seems to be a lot of play where the axles snap into the tranny. Is this normal? Is my diff going bad?

my 1g had a shutter like that only under acceleration in the lower 3 gears turns out it was the passenger wheel out of balance i rotated them . shutter whent away now its just a little at 70mph still i have to get it the wheel checked

I had a similar problem with my POS DD but it wasnt an out of balance tire. It was a pissed off neighbor loosening lug nuts on 1 wheel.

I just helped my neighbor replace both his front axles on his Mercury Villager. We went to Advanced auto parts and picked up some remans. The Pass. side uses a intermediate shaft, however they do not separate, so the reman includes the intermediate shaft. We slapped them in and took it for a spin... got the exact problem you are talking about. Pulled the Pass. side axle and found that the carrier bearing in the intermediate shaft was bad. We replaced it with a brand new axle and the problem got half better. We pulled the drivers side axle, returned it to discount auto crap and bought a new one from another store (Central Auto Parts). Installed and no vibration. The problem was exactly as you describe it, only under acceleration and when turning, but nothing you can hear. You might want to use the lifetime warranty most axles come with.
