Ok, tonight when I was out at the home made 1/4 mile with some friends, I went to launch my car, and when I did it sounded really weird, like the driveline was bouncing up and down. I later looked under my car, and it seems like the carrier bearings are fine, and don't look like they are loose at all. Anyone tell me what to look for? I am going to put it on a friends lift tomorrow and look it over.

U joints? - there are lots of them. Might as well grease something while it's on the rack. I "flopped" my carrier bearings over - the weight of the driveshaft sags the bottom portion - there's a VFAQ on filling them with silicone but I'd still "flop" them before you do that VFAQ. Good luck...

Its more then a vibration, its a thumping on the floor when I launch off the line, and when I am accelerating afterwards, and in second gear after a launch, then it goes away. Also I noticed while on the highway, it thumps like that when I hit big bumps, and sometimes it will start vibrating after hit big bumps, and it will stay vibrating, and making a noise for a little while, and then finally goes away.

Maybe it is the u-joints, my friends dad owns a driveline shop, I will have him look it over tomorrow probably. But anyone else have suggestions?

1stGENracer: Did you figure out what's wrong with the thumping noise ?
I have the exact same problem. Thumping noise on first and second gear only. More prominence on second gear, and goes away completely by the time I shift to third.

Mine is on a galant vr-4.
