First off, let me say that I already have the Symborski shifter plate bushings, the Speedsource shifter cable end bushings, and a B&M short shifter at 50%. When I put all of this together, I put the little plastic bushing at the end of the shifter base on backwards, and I had lots of slop. I corrected this, and it was all good.

Now (6 months later), I've begun to notice that when it's in gear, there's a little play side to side. It's not a lot of slop, it's just not tight in there. That's what I want to fix. Is there anything else I can do to make my shifter feel like a solid metal post when it's in gear?

Or is it possible that I'm just getting used to the other mods I did and this is perfectly normal?

Mine has a little side-to-side play while in gear. It always "centers" itself when I stop playing with it.

Yeah mine does too. I just don't want it to move at all.

Crap that looks like a lot of work. Thanks for the response but I think I'll just put up with the wiggle until I have that apart rebuilding something else.

i think the problem you are having is more along the lines of the nuts getting loose on your short shifter.. mine is the same way

I didn't think it looked too bad. Just looks like you take the case off and tighten a couple nuts, then put it back on. Sounds like a job to do on the weekend or something.
