Just installed my Shep tranny, filled it with fluid, and found this.

I just recently finished my Shep tranny install. I was filling the tranny with fluid, and noticed it was slowly leaking underneath the tranny. I jacked the car up, pulled the wheel off, and found this.

Does any one know if that is an easy fix? I really dont want to have to pull the tranny back out. Can that part of the tranny housing be fixed while on the car? Either replaced or welded? I plan on calling John tomorrow, but would feel a little better knowing something today. Thanks for any help.

yes it can be fixed with out removing the tranny !

if it was me I would pull the caseing off I think there is like 11 bolts that hold that end on and find it out the inside grind it down a little and put some JB weld on the inside as well as putting JB weld on the out side !

or

If you know someone with a buted tranny get their caseing

Nothing to much to worrie about ...........I have seen alot worse

I wouldn't take a chance with JB Weld especially on something like that. Take the casing off and have someone weld it.

Agreed! Don't risk destroying your brand new transmission with a hunk of JBWeld.

Or, give Shep a call and see if he can hook you up with a new, or used cover. I wouldn't think they would be too hard to find in a yard.
