is this a 4bolt rear end?

alright how can i tell if this rear end i bought on ebay is really a 4-bolt? also what else is needed to run the 4-bolt all i got is what is listed in the pictures..

Don't know if thats a 4-bolt, but you will need axles and cups to complete a swap. Those are usually hard to find separate.

well i dont think the cups would be too hard to find since people are always parting out there cars. also i can just go to my local parts store and get both of the cv-axles correct? also is that all i need? can you tell from the number on the back of it if its one? if so i guess ill just go outside and look at the part number i got on the back of mine and if its diffrent i will assume it for sure is a 4 bolt.

No you can't go to a auto parts store to get the axels only the dealer. The diff is the thing you can find easily. Upgrading to a 4-bolt is all in the axels they are thicker and stronger.

I got my axles at the parts store.

Though the axles are a bit thicker, most of the added strength comes from the thicker spline section of the differential. Also, the axles are separate from the axle cup's. I don't know if your local parts store will have them, but they are separate from the axles.

i dont think you can buy the axle cups either. i will be sure to ask when im buying the cv axles tho

i just got off the phone with mitsubishigraveyard and they said they can get them for 40 bucks a piece.

Nope, the gear ratios are different.

I used a automatic 4 bolt in my 91 manual....HOWEVER i did swap the pinion gears from my 3 bolt into the 4 bolt. Works great, so if you can find a auto 4-bolt for cheaper like i did, just swap the gears and maybe save yourself $$$.

Also there are four different diffs. Manual and Automatic both in LSD and Non-LSD. So if the number on the back of the diff in the car doesn't match the one you have seperate doesn't automatically mean it's a 4 bolt

I just got my 4 bolt from the boneyard for 90 bucks with cups and everything. I seen people selling them for 400 shipped WTF I had no clue they went for that much.
