My car is toasting clutches left and right. I know how to drive a manual quite well and I havent been horribly abusing my clutch. I've had the trans off twice in the last 2 weeks trying to figure this out. I've checked the slave and master, both are fine. I've closely checked the flywheel and it looks flat as glass with no heat char. So far i've toasted a 6 puck, a stock clutch, and 2 autozone clutches in about a month. I've only launched the car maybe 6 times total. There seems to be no oil leaking, no loose bolts, pressure plate fingers are even, slave isnt putting pressure on the fork. I cant figure this out. I've tryed just about every ajustment you can think of, I've put the car in fwd mode, pretty much everything. The previous owner said he was having bad luck toasting clutches so he put the 6 puck in, the 6 puck lasted about 600 miles before the metal/ceramic shatterd off of it. The engine block has no cracks, the trans is bolted tightly.

Any ideas whats causing this and how I can fix it?

take off the flywheel and use a decent level on it to know for sure, that would be my guess, also make sure your clutch isn't releasing right off of the floor.

Did you not break it in properly when you installed them? Did you get the flywheel resurfaced? (This mainly has to do with disengaging, but I'd recommend it anyway)

I broke them 2 of them in, one I didnt. Had no effect. I havent had the flywheel resurfaced but i've measured it up with a micrometer against my known working 2g flywheel, they came out the same so I dont belive it's worn or anything. I'll probibly get it resurfaced but I dont think that's the problem. And I dont belive I have a rear main seal leak.

A micrometer isn't going to tell you if the surface is flat. I would get it resurfaced, and make sure everything in the system is functioning properly.
