I'm guessing that my clutch is slipping. Whenever i stomp the gas getting into 2nd or sometimes 3rd gear, the engine accelerates and the boost goes up to 15psi, but the car isn't really gaining speed, sometimes it will grab and the cars accelerates like crazy, but sometimes the engine and turbo just spin up and the car doesn't feel like it's keeping up with the engine. So unless somebody else has a different idea i'm assuming i need a new clutch.

If i do need a new clutch, which clutch is suggested? I have read so many bad things about the ACT 2600 to do with crankwalk, and of course that is the last thing i want. My mods can be seen in my profile, I plan on upgrading to a big 28 or t28 killer whenever i get the money. My tax return was actually going to be used on the turbo upgrade, but now it looks like It may be used on a new clutch. I was also planning on putting in a phantom grip LSD if I got a new clutch, does anybody have one of these or know anything about how useful they are on DSMs? Thanks

To GreddySpyder,
Sounds like a worn out clutch. If you only drag race the car once in a
while, try the ACT 2100. It has 40% more clamping force than the
stock clutch. If your crankshaft end play is within factory spec. now
the installation of an ACT 2100 or 2600 clutch, with proper use should
not cause you any problems. Always "blip" the engine a little before
depressing the clutch, to build a little oil flow in the crank. When coming
to a stop, put the car in neutral before stopping. Do not sit at a stop with the clutch depressed, put it in neutral, and shift into gear when the light
changes. Finally, when you start the car, have it in neutral before you
turn the engine over, and release the clutch peddle as soon as the engine fires. These few things will yield very little time that there is any
pressure against the thrust bearing.

what is the price difference between the 2100 and the 2600, and why use ACT over other brands? Does anybody have the phantom grip LSD on their car or know anything about the results of using it on a DSM?
