So I had a perfectly shifting FWD turbo that I was driving before, but I ended up buying an AWD and just had some questions.

1) On the 1-2 shift at like 6500-7000, it seems like it takes a second to actually shift it? My trans doesn't grind at all but it just seems like it doesn't get into gear as fast as it should. I run an 18g so spool isn't bad but I think if I ran a bigger turbo, it wouldn't really stay spooled because of the time it takes to shift.

2) On the 2-3 shift, sometimes I get the same thing but not to often. LOL no question here, just a heads up?

3) On the 4-3 downshift, if I don't rev it, it kind of like clunks going into gear. Not really a grind, because it goes into gear, it's just more of a clunkiness sound. It's hard to explain.
The 2-3 shift is okay which makes me believe it's not syncros but only on a standard downshift does it make the noise but if I tap the gas and give it a quick rev, it goes into gear fine. WTF

My questions for the day. Help me out. Other then that, AWD freaking ROCKS.

Trans/Drivetrain mods: 2600, fidanza flywheel, ss clutch line, and possibly some type of short shifter. I don't know if it was cut down or what, but it's definitely not stock.

You should rev match when you downshift anyways. You should get the motor spinning to the speed that the transmission is when changing gears.

I understand that but there has to be a reason it will sometimes clunk on the downshift to 3rd. I know my FWD trans didn't do it at all regardless, I'm just trying to see if there is anything that I'm missing here.

check out your carrier bearing (center bearing ) mine is the same way because of that bearing.
