Well my stock clutch is slipping, so I need a new one. Thing is I'm stuck between the act 2100 and 2600. I know the 2600 will hold better. But i've heard it sucks in traffic. I need a clutch that I can bear to drive daily, yet still be able to hold well at the drag strip.

My car only has k&n, 3" test pipe, 3" catback, ported 2g mani, uicp, and intake pipe, at 15 psi. I really dont plan on modding the engine much more than this though. So I'm wondering if the 2100 will be able to grab hard enough with the power I am running?

P.S. The car ran a 13.8 @ 96 w/ 1.85 60' on the stock clutch, k&n, free mods, and test pipe + catback last fall. I am thinking the 2100 will be fine for me....? Thanks in advance!

The 2600 is fine for traffic. The pedal is slightly stiffer than a 2100 but nothing you won't get used to within a day or two. As long as your clutch is bled properly and the engagement point is in a proper location then you will be fine with either the 2100 or 2600. Just make sure to get the organic street disc and use the oem throw out bearing and not the act one. I would go with th e2600 over the 2100 not for how much power each holds but the 2100 just will not hold up to the repeated abuse that the 2600 will.

Act 2600. I've had it when I still weighed only 115lbs. I only weigh 129 now and still would never get another clutch, I LOVE the feel of the pedal. I don't know how people can have such powerful cars and push in a weak feeling clutch, It's just hard to believe that that soft easy to push in clutch pedal is holding all that power.

Yeah. Skip the 2100. I too went with the 2100 based upon what I heard about the increased pedal effort. Plus, the 2100 should have been fine for my fwd (and it was). However, I drove Zach's car with the 2600 shortly after I installed my 2100. I really liked the slighty firmer, more solid feeling of that clutch. Made me wish I had just bought that instead. In fact, I now have a 2600 with the street disc just sitting in my room. It will be going on the car if my TRE transmission shows up any time soon. LOL. ...been waiting almost a month now (not their fault though).

Thanks for the input guys. Looks like I will be gettin the 2600. I get what you're saying about having a powerful car, yet a soft clutch, it just doesn't feel right LOL. My fiero is nowhere near as quick as the gsx, yet it has a pretty firm clutch pedal, and it just makes the car feel more ballsy than it is, haha. Thanks again

i would recomend a spec stage 1 or 2. the stage 1 holds up to 318hp and has a awsome pedal feel. i daily drive a act 2600 in my second talon and it is so stiff that it messes up shit. since i installed it i have already when through 2 slave cylinders, clutch master cylinder, act throw out bearing, and now a clutch pedal assembly. the spec stage 3 which holds about the same torque as the 2600 also costs less. i would recomend a oem throw out bearing because the spec one sucks.

hope that helps
