Hey guys. I just installed a bunch of new parts for a clutch swap, and I can't get my car to go into gear. Here's what went in:

-Spec Stage 3 Clutch
-Fidanza Flywheel
-FP Flywheel bolts
-OEM TOB
-New clutch fork
-New pivot ball
-New master cylinder
-New slave cylinder
-SS clutch line

I tried adjusting the pedal at the master cylinder under the dash, and screwed the rod all the way out (towards the pedals) and it still didn't do anything, so I adjusted it all the way in (towards the firewall) and all that happened was that the pedal went lower to the floor, but still no engagement. I tried starting the car in gear, and it tries to jump forward and doesn't start, but does start in neutral. I shimmed the pivot ball with a very thin washer, as the TOB wouldn't go on unless it was very thin (we tried a couple of them, I had never heard of it not going on b/c of shimming before). Tried to bleed the clutch, and the pedal still feels very soft for an aftermarket clutch. My friend's Talon has a stiffer stock clutch. We did NOT bench bleed the master when putting it in though. Not sure if that is the problem or not. The slave rod does move, but I don't know if it is moving far enough to disengage the clutch. The clutch fork is sitting at an angle towards the driver's side and not in the center of the boot. The pedal doesn't seem to have any play in it. I push it to the floor and it fully returns to the top, and as soon as you push it, the master rod starts moving. I don't know what else I can do guys, I need to have this car by the end of the week. I ordered a longer slave rod, but I really would rather fix it the right way. What should I do?

I have run into this problem and the trany needed to come back out. The clutch is not disengaugeing. Put a thick washer under the clutch fork pivit ball.

This is what I'm afraid of. The TOB wouldn't go on unless the washer was really thin though, so I'm not sure what to do. I'm going to try and do everything I can before taking it out again.

When testing the clutch pedal assembly for play, I read one place that you should do it with the master cylinder rod adjusted somewhere in the middle, rather than all the way out like mine is. Is that right? If so, I'll check it out tomorrow and see if there is play that way.
