Abnormal TOB wear?

Hey guys I got a TOB prob, I know its shot cause its chattering like mad and goes away when you engage the clutch, comes back on when you disengage.

My problem is that I just had the clutch and everything done like 8 months ago, new TOB included. Thing is it was a generic clutch kit, so I know the TOB was too. I've been told to trust nothing but Mitsu OEM TOB's, but I think 8 months is a little too soon even for a crappy TOB.

I was also told the adjustment of the clutch pedal could have had something to do with it, not engaging or disengaging fully or something along those lines.

Im getting a Mitsu TOB and gonna have that thrown in there, but what can I do to stop this from happening again?(assuming it wasnt just from the crappy tob) I dont know a real lot about the adjusting of the pedal or how its supposed to be adjusted.

Throw some automotive grease on the transmission shaft and make sure the TOB can move freely inside the shaft.

i got the same problem, when i start my car, it sounds like there is chunks of metal slapping around my transmission, but when i enguage my clutch it goes away , i havent changed anything yet, cause im in process of moving right now, so when im settled in, in florida i will do a new clutch a TOB, i tried to adjust my clutch, it worked very little,

The noise could also be from worn input shaft bearings. When the tranny is out, grab the input shaft and check it for excess freeplay. Turn it by hand feel for roughness.
