I recently did the 2g AT trans to MT trans conversion in a 1998 GST.

Everything seems to be working perefctly fine except for the fact that the check engine light is lit and it's throwing a 1600 code which wasn't lit before the swap was done.

I was thinking of swapping an MT ECU in place of the AT ECU, but from what I've learned, the 2g AT and MT ECU is the same Mitsubishi part number.

Anyone have any insight on this topic ? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks for the space.

Take the car to your local autoparts store like auto zone and get the code read and see what it says. Probably your easiest method to find the solution.

Heh.. probably be cheaper to buy a logger instead and get the code yourself. About 95% of the people I talked to when I researched the A/T to M/T swap said the ECU's are exactly the same.
