Brake lights always on - Just did A/T to M/T

I just swapped my transmission from a auto to a manual. My car is a 1995 GSX. The brake lights are always on. Are there some wires that I need to connect or disconnect that went into the tranny to solve this problem?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have clutch fluid. Why do you ask? How could this cause the brake light to be on?

Not trying to be a jerk but how much did it end up costing you? I might be heading there next.

It ended up costing about $1900. I got an entire changeover from a junkyard for 1750 plus shipping. It actually costed more in the end because of problems, but if you did it without any hangups you could do it for under $2000.

Anyways, it sounds like you have the pinswitch for the brake light not making contact with the brake pedal lever when your foot is off the pedal.

There is a switch that plugs into the harness (same on AT and MT harnesses) that is OPEN when the pedal is all the way up, or unplugged. Lay on your back under the steering wheel and look up at the brake pedal assembly. There's a black pinswitch that should make contact with the pedal's arm. If it doesn't, your brake lights will be on. Bend the bracket and adjust the contact by using the jam nuts. Should be simple enough to figure out after you look at it.
