Sidney,
Got a weird problem, just finished a motor rebuild and put a centerforce dual friction clutch in. Well I was driving it and for the first few Km's it was great. Now I'm getting a weird vibration. Happens going about 50 (haven't taken it any faster) and as I hit the brakes, the vibration gets worse until I come to a stop, and it goes away. What could I have done wrong?

For future searchers... Just checked the tranny fluid and it needed about a 3/4 litre. Problem seems to have gone away.

ok, so more info....vibrations did not go away. does not matter what gear , clutch in or out I still get the vibrations that travel thoughout the car, until I come to almost a complete stop (barly rolling) and they'll go away. Tranny, xfercase and cv's are all bolted up nice and tight. Where/what should I look for?

ported a bit, thats about it. This ain't no resonance tough. This is a pretty violent shaking (feels like i'm driving over those rumble strips on the side of the highways) that is completely speed related.

heck, it could be totally unrelated to your clutch and tranny. you could just need your tires balanced (which would sound more like your problem). OR your brake disc could be warped.

but to be on the safe side, check your bell housing bolts. don't just look at them cause they can look tight cause if they back off, the tranny will wanna rest on them, taking up any slack. put a wrench on them and check. if these bolts back off, it can put a strain on the clutch cause the tranny will be at an angle and totally destroy the clutch and possibly mushroom the input shaft on the tranny. also as well, causing a vibration.

hope this helps.

well, i think i may have figured it out. A CV boot wasn't exactly tight and slid down the shift, and as it turned around, it was hitting the crossmember. Cleaned it all up, tightened it all up and been driving good for 100 kms now.
