Guys, I'm at my wits end with this car, I bought it with a low compression motor (knowingly of course) for cheap from a friend, it has an ACT2600 LB Clutch, HKS 272 cams, and a couple of other little things. After I rebuilt the motor, everything was fine, 16 PSI of boost all day long, car ran fantastic.

But, then one day the clutch pedal went to the floor, I didn't think much of this, and simply replaced the master cylinder, which is where the trouble begins. After the mechanic replaced the clutch master, the clutch would slip rediculously, even if i barely touched the throttle.

I had it with this guy, and took it to someone who knew a bit more about DSM's, well he told me the pedal assembly needed to be welded to take out the play in the pedal, so he did that, same problem, I got him to adjust the rod going into the master cylinder all the way out, until there was only a couple threads left and it STILL did it, now they're saying it's my ACT 2600LB clutch (which, btw, has only seen 16PSI from a 14b and ZERO launches and was perfectly fine b4 the master cylinder problem)

But the oddest thing is, no matter how hard I try, It won't slip in 1st gear?!?!?!?! only 2nd,3rd,4th,5th.

They SAID they replaced the slave, but im not sure they did ... What else could it be? Clutch fork? Slave Cylinder?

Im lost.... I just need this car to run, I can barely merge with hwy traffic it slips so bad. If theres anybody in the Toronto area that knows these cars that can take a look at it and tell me what the problem is, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm not going to go into great detail but it sounds to me like you need to just replace the clutch. Disk sounds like its gone. It doesn't matter how much boost you run or what not if the clutch is just plain ol old and worn out.

If the clutch is new... well, idk.

It kind of sounds like you're adjusting the rod the wrong way. The clutch will slip quite a bit if preloaded by the master cylinder. Maybe a defective master cylinder that is pumping up for some reason. . . the clutch may be toast now though if it slipped a lot, it doesn't really take much.

Pedal play has nothing to do with clutch slipping, it has more to do with the clutch dragging between shifts.

Ok, I edited the title of your thread since you obivously haven't read the rules I'll let you in on a couple of them.

#1 - Your thread topic.. YEA it needs to do with your questions/comments. Not some stupid remark about the car you drive or cars people drive and love.

#2 - If you got a problem with a moderator you need to keep it in the PM's and not thrown all around on the boards.

Your problem sounds like the clutch, have you tried replacing it yet.. Or even considered it?

It's a brand new ACT2600 clutch, that was perfectly fine before the master went, and the second the new master was in it slipped, so we replaced the master again, (yes, two different masters) and it's the same problem. Not to mention I've never ever once smelt clutch.

why would the clutch be fine before the master went? and not after? It appears the arm near the slave cylinder isn't getting "pushed" hard enough to disengage the clutch.

this car is a giant headache. I don't think just throwin money at it will solve anything, if you guys can give me a legit reason why a brand new ACT2600 clutch would be fine before and demolished after (with no driving inbetween) It may persuade me to change the clutch, but until then, I'm pretty sure that the same problem will occur after the new clutch. Only difference being, I'd have a lighter wallet.

Thanks, but I was just trying to get attention here. Don't worry about the rules, I know them all too well. Remember? I've been here longer than you have :thumb:
