toronto,
I fainally put in another tranny in my car (came of a 92 6bolt tsi fwd) it used to work fine. I swapped the tranny without the slave cylinder. The tranny I put in w/ the same clutch that it had (almost new) and checked everything i.e. the shift fork has minimal play, release bearing moved freely frond and back but without play side to side. The two trannys (my old one and this one) are identing physicially the only difference is that I had to use the same CV axles that came from the car where the tranny came off.

Problem: It's very hard to select gears and the clutch is REALLY low. I'm really hoping it's the slave cylinder or the shift cables (need adjustment). I have the same slave that came w/ the tranny and gonna put it on tmr to see if it's any diff. Does anyone have any advice? Maybe this happened to someone already, all feedback appreciated.

Changed the slave cylinder and adjusted the cables a little, problem solved! :thumb:
