This might be a dumb question but i was just wondering if you can change a FWD car to AWD and how much it would cost, thanks

You're looking at a ton of work man.

As with anything, it can be done. But probably for multiple thousands of dollars.

If you're specifically looking to convert a DSM to AWD, it'd probably be both easier and cheaper to buy an AWD, and take all the goodies out of your FWD, and put them in that.

As for other vehicles, I know that with older VWs, there is the occasional "kit" that pops up now and again to convert to AWD. But it's still a lot of money and time.

Yeah they summed it up. Its pointless and time consuming. Unless it was a spyder and you had money falling out of your butt. With all the time in the world.

I did it. It takes a lot of hard work and patience. And a little bit of cash. I think i spent just upwards of $4k on the whole project (that was for an AT/MT swap also). If you can't do it yourself, or with friends, do not do this project. It will cost you far too much to have a performance shop do this.

Your best bet is probably to buy a GSX/TSiAWD.
