i have an automatic 97 eclipse gs and i wanted to convert it to a 5 speed and i was wondering if a gst tranny would fit with my gs engine?

No it will not fit. Get a GS 5 speed.
 
HAHA told you kyle and I was right. its all about bolt up. Now get a gsx/gst so we can start working on that 2.4l gt37r setup OMG
