So I recently got my car back on the road. The transmission was rebuilt and I got a new ACT 2100 disc (already had a 2100 on the car). The clutch pedal engages right off the floor, so I adjusted the pedal all the way out. Still engaged right off the floor. After replacing the master cylinder and slave cylinder with a longer rod in it, and bleeding it, the pedal engages from almost the same place. Even though it engages early, I could drive the car fine and it would go into every gear fine. After driving on the highway, and then driving around town, I could hardly get into any gear. It seems like after the clutch or transmission heats up, I can't get it in any gear until I wait hours later when it has completely cooled down. Any suggestions as to what the problem could be?

you have to adjust the clutch, same thing happened to me, get under your dash where your pedals are, look up and youll see a rod with a lock nut on it connecting to your clutch pedal. no loosen that locknut and turn the rod, DO NOT PUSH THE ROD IN THOUGH, just turn it in a direction and feel your pedal, once you get it where you want it, lock that lock nut up tight and you ready to go. :)

Already did that... worked to an extent. I'm gonna try bleeding it again today. hopefully that'll work

I am having the same problem.. clutch engages right off the floor when it's cold, then when it warms up it engages at about 2" of pushing the pedal down. I have already replaced the clutch, rebuilt the master cylinder, bled the system.. and reverse is giving me problems getting into gear..
if anyone gets answer let me know...

I have that same problem ^^^

I start my car and drive off and it engages right off the floor, then while i keep driving it it will all of a sudden the engagement changes to right before the pedal is out. What is the deal?

well i dont want to scare you but my clutch was doing the same thing and then one day it wouldnt go into gear. well now about a week later and i have taken my transmission off thinking it was the transmission. well come to find out my pos ACT throw out bearing has broken in a million pieces. well to make a long story short i bought 3 bottles of bg syncro shift, steel braided clutch line. new mitsu TOB, and a new clutch fork which will be going in this weekend. i will report when i get it all in.

Well i just replaced my clutch with a Centerforce Dual friction and resurfaced the flywheel and TOB. Everything was perfect. The clutch engagment point just is changing after i drive for a little while longer.....could it be air pockets in the system?

You have to replace the clutch pedal and actuator bracket. Or you could just weld them together. I just did this a week ago cause I put a new clutch in and could'nt get it in gear. You have to pull the steering column and brake/clutch assembly out. It's a pita but well worth it. My clutch now releases in the middle, before I had to start it in gear to get it in first. Have Fun!

My car does the same thing! in the mornings it feels like crap! but after about ten minutes of driving the engagement goes back to normal and i can get it into gear but two days ago it just stop working it pissed me off so i ge thome and check the clutch fluid and its low! so i add some more but i was by my self so i was unable to bleed it today my buddy is coming over and we are going to try to bleed the lines and make sure there is no air pockets in the system and i am also going to check for leaks! i just had a new clutch and flywheel put in so i am sure its not that, and i changed the clutch master cyl. and the slave is not leaking and if that dont work then i am going to try to adjust the clutch pedal even though that kills trannys hopefully i wont have to do that it might just need a good bleeding! any ideas or did someone get there dsm working proberly!

You might try replacing the slave cylinder. I had a similar problem with my clutch.

About 1,800 miles after an remanufactured engine swap and new clutch (ATC 2600) I was driving downtown, came to a stoplight and I coudn't get the pedal to go in! Of course the car stalled, and that was it. I could pull it out of gear but the clutch was still engaged. I got it towed and after 2 & 1/2 weeks of my mechanic tinkering with it and replacing both cylinders and upgrading to steel braided lines he finally got it to drive again. The really strange thing was the throwout bearing was fine on the clutch.

It seems like our problems are related, could just be a issue with original parts.

'Hope I was of some help.

i know this is kinda like 2 months late for the original poster but, check your flywheel step hieght. the shop that redid the trans most likely resurfaced the flywheel to a stock step hieght.
