hi went to the track tonight and pulled a jackass and dumped the clutch a touch to fast. there was a slight grindy noise and the car just kinda gave up the ghost. It'll move and drive (I got it home which is about 20 miles) just feels like a really bad slipping clutch from a start. then when your moving say 30mph or above it the drive train seems alright most of the time still some slipping. every once and awhile it'll kinda pop or grind when downshifting. It's pissing rain here now so I have no motivation to investigate this evening. Just wondering if anybody else has had the same problem after a super hard/rude launch. p.s. that car as a fairly new act2600 and a four bolt rear end.

been doin some research and kinda sounds like it the vc or center diff. as soon as it busted it acted like a front driver, even spinning one of the wheels. but now from a stop it is a real pain in the ass to get going. enging revs rise but barely moves. no clutch smell. just wondering if anyone has made the same moronic mistake I did and had the same results.

Well my buddy had a similar problem the other day..... his Center diff was totally gone, but he could still storta drive the car just off the VC.... well enough to get him home, than it totally went out on him. We both just welded our center diffs yesterday and stuck the VC back in to hold the little ball down, everything works great now, I dont even notice any popping when turning.

thats kinda what I think thats what going on with mine. I'll know in a while I'm about to start to dimantle it and find out for sure. but if it is the center diff i'll either weld it or go with a tre since the car isn't a daily driver and i'll be careful with tight corners. These cars have the turning radius of a valcano anyways so whats a little more gonna do?

When my center diff pooped on me due to hard launch my car was just rwd. It was like that 1g on that video that does rwd burnouts, well thats how my car was. I fooled around with it for couple days doing drifts and peelouts then i just changed it.
