I just flat don't have the money(or time) for a shep or TRE rebuild. I was going to do just that but I need to get my car long before I'll have the money for one of those.

I'm faced with decisions. I either have some unknown shop in my area do the rebuild or have some place thats is more reasonable(and reputable) do it and have someone locally remove/install it. I'm not sure who else does DSM transmissions that would be better than haveing joe tranny mechanic do it.

If you have any sugestions I'd apreciate it.

honestly you should do it yourself. It's actually VERY easy and a skill that's valuable to have. No special tools are really needed other than a 36mm socket and a torx bit. A hydraulic press is usually recommended to get it all back together the right way, but you can take it to your local machine shop and I'm sure they'll press it all together for less than $20. Then just reassemble the casing and that's it. What's wrong with your transmission exactly?

3/4 grind. I can shift at idle with no problem but once I'm moving it grinds.

Actually shortly after I posted I got ahold of a guy with that has a few DSMs and has done work on many more(he owns a proper transmission place) so I feel ok about having him do the work and he fit my budget. Thanks for the responce.
