the other day i was at the shop i work at. i got under the car to do some stuff and noticed the transfer case leaking. it wasnt too bad, so i tired to drive it home. well, halfway there, i heard a crunch and then my speedo went from 60 to 100. the ngine rpm was fine, but i feaked out. when i got home i couldnt really shift. i parked and a few minutes later, i had a river of gl5 (smells like sh!t) all over the place. now i aint got a car. well, to my relief (sorta) i find that there was a recall on the transfer case, about a seal going bad and leaking. if i remember correctly, it said that they had to fix anything that this faulty part would damage. so, i sent the car to an ex-eagle dealership and they told me they are gonna investigate to see if i gotta pay or if they do. sheesh. anyway, i was confident that things would fnally go my way. yeah right. they are trying to blame EVERYHTHING on the engine leaking oil. my engine does leak oil, but not very badly. they said engine oil got onto the clutch. yeah right, when i got home that night i didnt smell any oil burning, just the very pungent odor of gl5. so i figure they are b.s.ing me and trying to get me to pay for more than i need to. the oil on the clutch is probably the gl5. it cant be engine oil. so, what do i do? i cant afford 1100 bux right now. i need some advise.

I don't really understand do you need a clutch or a transfer case? The recall is for the driveline yoke leaking and other seals if you need them. Does not have anything to do with oil on your clutch. What is the $1100 for?

dealerhships will try to #@%#@%#@%#@% you anyway they can...i had my timing belt changed on my 2g and they said my control arms were loose and i should get them changed...it was $350..luckily i didnt have the cash and told them maybe next time...then about 2 months later it started making a fuct up noise when i turned so i did some research and found on nhtsa that there is a recall on the lower control arms..i called them up and told them and they put new one on for free....moral of the story is to call a dealer(other than the one you took it to) and tell them you have a recall that hasnt been taken care of and that your car wont move..they should fix it...if it doesnt work....try another dealer...hope that helps....i like to ramble :)
