4 bolt diff guts in a 3 bolt housing???

Hey guys I was wondering. I have a eclipse and I will be upgrading to 4 bolt axels and differential and I was wondering if the 4 bolt guts will go in a 3 bolt housing??? I don't know much about the convertion between 3 and 4 bolt so any help would be great. Thanks

I am asuming that you are talking for an AWD rear end right? If you are read below, otherwise I am sorry for the mistake (because I read that you have a GST )

It is a PITA. I had to take out and put in a rear end by myself!
