Are 3rd and 4th gear related in the transmission?

The reason I ask is because I'm working on getting this car up to speed here and it grinds going into only 3rd and 4th gears. The rest are great. I have an ACT 2600. The clutch engages right mid petal throw. I can shift fine if the car is running but not moving, only once I'm moving does it grind some into gear...not just a grunt..not a wicked grind..but enough to be "not cool".

I read some VFAQ that described adjustments if different groupings of gears are grinding but not 3rd and 4th.

I'm trying to determine if there are adjustments to be made or if its inside the transmission. In wich case I'll get a shep rebuild on the thing most likely if the tranny is beyond simple fixes.

I just put in brand new Pensoil syncromesh. I picked that because it seems many people favored that. I changed all fluids with premium stuff just last weekend.

If someone really thinks using BG over syncromesh will fix the problem I'll certain try it but I'm a bit skeptical that brand shift would take me from crap to cool. If I was using genaric stuff I could see it perhaps....anyway let me know what you think about that. Honestly When I purchased the car it ground in most every gear and I knew that transmission rebuild could easily be on the list. I shoulda gotten some gremlin repelant last time I was at the parts store ROFL

145k on the body, less than 10k on the engine rebuild, Not sure about the transmission though I just got the car recently. Its a 90, the seller said it had a 23 spline so I think its been changed out somewhere..probably with another used tranny.
I'll track down some BG its certainly worth a try. I'm not sure who locally carries it.
