2g Tranny. Lost a couple gears

Lost 5th and reverse. whats the best way to head about fixing it? would a 1g tranny work in a 2g car after a 6 bolt swap? what about converting an awd to just fwd.

dude its probably ur shifter linkage. Also a 1g tranny has different mounts. Go to vfaq.com and itll show how to adjust ur shifter linkage I had the same problem but it just wouldnt go into reverse, it was a really minor adjustment.

ok .. so a 1g wont work then. the internal linkage to reverse broke and bent and jambed up 5th. its and internal problem not a simple external adjustment. so im stuck trying to find a new tranny or a used one from a junkyard

Yea a 1g tranny wont work the mount is totally different but yea the inside of trannys arnt that complicated but its probably pretty messed up so yea just look for a 2g tranny.
