Long story short, my shifter comes out of gear, with a little effort from me, without using the clutch. Is this a problem or what? I can only do it when I'm not under hard acceleration.

thats wierd, maybe the syncros? my 1987 Ford Bronco II had the same issue, you could pull it out of gear so easy, but on my car you can't get it to go out of gear no matter what. i havn't tried hard, but hard enough to know its solid

Not a problem at all. If your decelerating and you nudge the shifter out of gear its perfectly normal. However if your car comes out of gear when your accelerating, you might have a small problem.

welcome to powershifting :thumb: ...if u match up the right rpm's then u can shift out and into gears without use of the clutch...its fun, but if u hear a grinding noise while trying2go into gear, u've pretty muched ruined ur synchro LOL

u shouldnt b able to shift to neutral while accelerating, once u let go of the throttle and ur rpm starts goin down then u can shift all u plz :)

this exact same thing happened to my Audi. the car would pop outof 3rd gear while under acceleration. 1 week later I lost 3rd gear completely and within a month the trans was trashed.
