Which is better

i have a choice of getting a FWD turbo tranny 5spd rebuilt for $850 or a used one w/42k miles on it. Which is better and why? Keep in mind i have no tranny in my car right now, thanks

Spend the extra for the rebuild, and go with a double synchro 2nd gear from TRE. The price difference rebuilt/used is only $350, and $190+ of that is just bearings, so it's actually like $160 more for a tranny that you KNOW is going to work, especially if you get a warranty.

Rebuilt tranny = . I just got mine in today....
