93-94 Spec Tranny

Do anyone know what are the upgraded parts in 93-94 Tranny? Double Synchros cone in 2nd? How does it look like anyway? Better shift rail?

Can you put these better parts in a 23 spline tranny? Thanks.

All the synchronizers are the same except the 5th-Rev. They made it larger to help the reverse blocker ring last longer. There may be other changes, but that's the only one that I know about....

2nd is the dual cone syncro. It can be put into a trans with only the single 2nd syncro. You need to transfer 2nd gear, hub/slider/springs/keys and of course the syncro.
3rd and 4th are not as beefy as the 90-92.5.
It might also have a second oil guide. Not sure on this one though.

thanks. Some one told me that the hub slider/rail has three rails in 93-94 and all others have two rails. That's why the EVO shift forks (1/2 and 3/4) work for this year. Other years can only take 3/4 EVO fork, not 1/2.

I have the EVO 1/2 and 3/4 shift forks on my 92.

there are 3 rails in all the DSM trannies. 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/reverse.

The 1st/2nd works for all years. It is the 3rd/4th that doesn't. If you switch to the 90-92.5 3rd/4th gearset, which utilizers a different hub/slider, the Evo fork will fit.
