Hey guys I need Help with my transmission.. It would be a great deal if you guyz could help me out. I cant make use of my engine power if my car wont let me shift at higher RpMs.
Ok heres the deal i own a 91 GSX Automatic.. Good for GSX bad for Auto..
I bought it for 2050 dollars off a lady who didnt do good care of it... I had to change the oil and did some maintenace. I need to do a timing belt change and give the car some new tires.
I didnt have enough time to test drive it.. before i knew it i found out i got a car that i needa do some work on... I put my gear down to the L position (auto) then i take off slaming on the gas.. Next thing i kno it reaches 4000 rpm or sometimes 4500 rpm and then shifts to the next gear which would be 2 i didnt shift it yet and it shift itself.. (notice the gear selector is still on L) it just wont let me make use of my engine.. It keeps on shifting to the next gear at 4500 rpm or sometimes 4000rpm till it reaches its last gear with would be the 4 gear... from then on i can go past 4000 rpm all the way until 7000rpm... redline...
The car revs up fine wen put it to Nuetral or Park.. it goes way up there.. but wen i drive it.(by Means of Slaming on the gas). it shifts too early way too early sometimes at 3500 rpms.. I cant do nothing about it.. Its been pissin me off lately.. not being able to bring out the power of the car... COuld it be i need a new tranny.. or possible new MAF sensor.. i heard a guy on here once had this problem and it was his MAF sensor as i have read. But could it just be i need new tranny fuild.. wat could be the cause.. Please i need help
also considering a sale if i dont get this fix.. I love 4g63 motors but this time its not worth it if i cant make use of it... Please help.. :thumbdown
