I am just curious as to what the ratio of people who have different center differentials installed are.

I have a spool center diff with shep tranny.

The spool scarey to me. On dry pavement when making a low speed turn you can really feel the car bind up then slip. I wouldn't recommend this for someone you has to make many tight turns. At highway speeds on/off ramps I dont even notice it. Also it could be my imagination but ever since I got the spool it feels like the car will pull to one side or the other harder than it ever did before.

I did a ton of research on this prior to going with the spool. 90% of people with a spool dont recommend it for a daily driver. 100% of the people with the 4 spider love it. People with the stock diff dont have as many problems as you would think until getting above 300HP.

As for LSD's. Most AWD guys will have the stock rear LSD. It doesn't really pay to upgrade to a KAAZ. Also the KAAZ is very noisey. The quaifes are pretty expensive and not recommended by some of the fastest DSMs in the country. Honestly unless autocrossing you really dont need them because most cars will spin all the wheels in a straight line anyway. The phantom grip and BG inserts are a nice cheap fix but in the long run will cause problems. They often break the retaining pin in the final drive which leads to diff-case-clutch destruction.

The best advice I can give about LSD's.......skip them and get the best sticky tires money can buy!

I am Jeff Jeske and that is my opinion.

I voted for the 4 spider diff since that's what I have now. I tried a spool for a few months but took it out because I use the car on the streets most of the time, and I need to make two hard 90 degree turns to get into my parking space.

Speed design four spider in my Talon. Can't comment much, only put about a 1K since the install.

Thanks to you guys who participated, but come on everyone else, how long does it take to click the mouse once to participate?? As of now there are a total of 13 poll entries and 131 views to this thread. If you were interested enough to look at it at least click once on what center diff you have.
