alright my girl just bought a 2g awd 5spd blk. anyway when the car is cold the tranny shift perfect but after its been warmed up and drove for a bit. its really hard to put into first. if i pump the clutch once it falls into gear like it should. does this with other gears sometimes too. and reverse is always a pain(it likes to grind). so what do you guys think. i adjusted the pedal and it helped just a tad. maybe you can give me insight on what its exactly doing like not disengaging the clutch all the way or something. anyway thanks for the help/advise

i guess i should add that one time the clutch didn't return to the up position. so i pulled it up and then it was fine again.

It almost sounds like a clutch problem and that is what I would check first. Are any of your gears slipping while the clutch is engauged, pedal up? Have you physically crawled under the car and checked the slave cylinder to see if its leaking, if not do so. I would also flush all the old fluid out and put new in to make sure you have fresh fluid and have blead all the air out. Once that is done drive it around and see if that fixes the problem. If your slave is leaking it will need to be relplaced.

If that is all done and your still experiencing issues I would drain my tranny fluid and refill with a fresh batch of your choice. Take a look at the old fluid and drain plug for metal shavings that is a clue you may have some internal problems with the tranny. You'll prob. notice the car shifts smoother if the fluid was old.

Try that for a while and see if things improve. If they do great, if not I would have the tranny pulled, clutch checked and replaced if needed. I wold also have the tranny cracked opened and have the gears, shift forks, and other components looked over. It might be easier to just get a used tranny if the components are all in bad shape. Following the approach I just gave you will save you money. Always troubleshoot the possible things it might be first that don't require money, that way if that is the answer you did it yourself and you saved some money. Good Luck!
