I have had my Fidanza flywheel for over 3 years now and I love it. But the other day when I tried to start my car the ring gear popped off. I am wondering if others have had this problem with the Fidanza or not? If this seems to be a isolated event I will buy another. If alot of other people have had this problem I will probably go with the ACT.

This is the first time I have heard of this situation. Have you tried contacting Fidanza to see what they say about this? Ive been using my fidanza for 3 years as well and love it very much so.

Yes, I did. They said if I send them my flywheel they will install a new ring gear for $50. So I just bought a new one for $200. It was going to need a new friction ring anyway which is $100 and I also don't have the time to wait for the old flywheel to get fixed.

I know at one time Fidanza made an improvement on the Eclipse flywheel. They switched to tapered dowel pins. It's been so long since I've since the flywheel that I don't remember what those upgraded dowel pins were doing (maybe holding the ring gear). I also won't know if my was an upgraded version or not untill I pull it out.
