Before you guyz tell me to search I did, for 2 hours and couldn't find any real answers. I want to buy a 91 tsi awd automatic for the enige and hopefuly some drivetrain parts. Also I realize it has a smaller turbo and injectors. I also have a 91 gsx awd man without the engine, trans, transfer case, or rear diff and rear axles, but it does have the front axles. My question is can I use the auto t-case and rear diff? What else will I need besides the manual trans and manual ECM? I hope I didnt piss anyone off with this noobie question. OMG
 
You need to use the entire M/T drivetrain with a M/T trans, t-case.

If you're using the automatic engine (mostly the 390cc injectors), stick with the automatic ECU.
 
Well I have the injectors and turbo for the manual trans car, so dont I wanna use the M/T ECM? Also will the A/T diff work or I need the M/T diff? Thanks for the help :thumb:
 
The only thing the same with the a/t and m/t's are the driveshafts. The tcases, rear diffs, and trannes are different. Also, the front axles are different.

You can run the 13g on the 390cc injectors if you want, just make sure you run a automatic ECU. I have a 93 shortblock in running condition, 13g turbo, manifold, fuel rail, injectors, automatic ECU, wiring harness, shifter cables and shifter, a very nice clutch, all kinds of stuff you could use. Get in contact with me, I'll walk you through what you need to make it work

Yea, if you'll be using the M/T injectors and turbo, use the M/T ECU. Use M/T cams too, they're more aggressive.

If you swap in a M/T, you need a M/T diff, the gear ratios on the AT and MT are different for the t-case and diff, so you have to make sure they match. Manual transmission, M/T t-case, M/T rear diff.

The tcase gear ratio is 1:1 for both the a/t and m/t's. The difference is the actual casing. The a/t casing has 6 bolts, m/t has 5. They are designed differently so Mitsu could produce one driveshaft that would work in both.

Swapping in m/t cams is a good mod if you've got them, but is proven not to make a lot of power. You'd be better off to spend the money elsewhere unless it falls into your lap.
