Clutch Pedal Issue

I've got an issue with the clutch pedal. The clutch isn't slipping but when I got the car it seemed to be releasing toward the floor too much. I can stick my foot below it and lift it up just a little but I don't know it if falls back down. I don't believe it does.

The rod is adjusted all the way out. It's still way too close to the floor. My first thought is that the pressure plate may have been shot, just making it feel weak. The clutch isn't slipping at all either.

Does it still sound like it's the clutch pedal assembly? I was about to go spend alot of money on a clutch assembly, but if I don't have to I'm sure not going to.

From reading in here I'd guess it's the clutch assembly, but I'd like opinions before I shell out any money I shouldn't have to.

How many miles on your car? What year?

Suggestion (because I don't have them bookmarked) is search for 'pedal assembly'. There are numerous threads about how the pedal assembly can be worn and causing slop in the system. Result is a low clutch release/engagement, like yours. Higher mileage cars are more prone to it. Or if a higher clamp load clutch was installed it will overwork the pedal assembly quickly.

sounds like the system isnt bled correctly or your master cylinder is gone..check those two first can save you allot of time and money
