Im pretty sure that mitsubishi will have to do the transfer case recall on my car. I've got to call them in a little bit and give them my VIN. I just wanted to ask you guys what you think is screwed up on my car, and then i can compare what Mitsubishi says...
I was driving, and i noticed that when i took off from a stop sign, it felt like my clutch was slipping really bad, but my RPMs AND my speed would go up together, but the car wouldnt accellerate at that rate. I knew it wasnt my clutch, so i pulled into a car wash, and got out and looked underneath the car. There was a perfect trail of transfer case fluid that told the last half-mile of my drive. I'm not 100% sure where the fluid is leaking out, i dont think that it is around the rear seal of the transfer case, more along the bottom of it.
Anyway, why would the fluid leaking out make my car feel like my clutch is slipping?
Thanks in advance,
-Tim
ps. i'll let you know what mitsu says when i talk to them on the phone.

I dont really know what you mean by "the only recall"
I talked to mitsubishi, and they said that the transfer case recall had been performed on my car in August of 1998. I dont really know if that is true or not, but i wouldn't doubt it with this car...
Anyway, he said to bring it up and have them look at it. He said he would check to see if it was under the provisions of the recall...
Is there anything i can do or tell them when i take it up there? I really need to get it fixed, and i dont want to spend the money on a new transfer case...
I read the HUGE recall post on here too. it was helpful, but aside from calling the 1800 number in advance, i just wanted to see if anyone knew of anything to tell them.
Thanks guys
-Tim

Yeah, taking it to an all chrysler dealer would probably be a good idea. The thing is, this place im going to is Chrysler, Mitsubishi, Jeep, Dodge, Toyota, and something else.. so, i dont really know.. i've got an appointment to take it up there. I'll let you guys know what happens.
Thanks
-Tim
