I have a 6-bolt in my 98 gsx AWD manual....i need a new front case because my old ACT clutch ruined it. can i swap a 1g front case on it and make it work?????PLEASE let me know!!!!

Since nobody else has repsonded, I will give this a shot.

The 1g & 2g transmission cases are nearly the same. The front "housing" is almost identical.
I beleive there would be clearance issues for you're transfer case though.
I cannot think of where off hand, but I beleive the 1g front housing has a cast in it near the xfer area, that the 2g doesnt. You may be able to grind down this area.

The best way to find out... Put them nexto each other and compair. If they look the exact same you are good to go.
