toronto,
hey guys im having issues with this car dropping the transmission... the axle nut finaslly came off after breaking 100 dollars in johnson bars, and a 4 foot pipe bent like twig.
anyways I cant get the axles out, Ive disconnected the 2 bolts from strut, how does the axle come out, do I need to hammer it out now?
it looks seized up pretty badly
thanks for the help.

i took the axle nut off, removed the whole entire front suspension, so the wheel assembly would move freely, i took a rubber mallet, and tapped the axles in, then pulled them by hand - you have to pull them out at an angle. It looks like it'll rip, but it doesn't. Once you get the axles out from the wheels, use a thick flat head screw driver, and pry them out of the trans. takes a while the first time around - my car was a 97 and everything is dirty and rusted.

ya see the thing is i cant remove the axle from the hub.
i need to know how to remove that part

move the wheel hub to the left or to the right, then hammer out the axle with a rubber mallet until it doesn't stick out anymore, then pull the rest of it out :)

with the hub bolted up to the strut screw the axil bolt on where if you hit it with a hammer you would hit the nut and not the axle. and give it a few sharp blows with a one handed sledge. that should loosen it. if it takes alot of force to dislodge it then you might need to replace the axle nut. and when you reinstall the axles apply some anti sieze to the splines.
