Today i hit about 65k miles on my 99 gst with intake exhaust and BOV and tt just little stuff. Stock boost, stock turbo.
Today it started being a little harder to shift...not HARD just i needed to put a little more effort into it. Then i pulled off from a light with my girlfriend and it going from 1st to 2nd was fine then 2nd to third it would go horizontaly, but was normal vertically like 1st ot second...
I just had to drive home in 2nd gear. When i get home i try to puch a littel harder ot go over towards 3rd and 4th and 5th and such, wouldnt budge at all. like there is a wall that wont let me go over any. BUt still moves freely from 1st to second. Then i try a littel harder to make it go over, and it still doesnt work but then i just move it from 1st ot second and bam its liek a spring pulled it all the way up into first and with like a lot of power i can move it to about where neutral would be then let go and it sporings back really fast to where it was in 1st. I dont know much about transmissions, much less DSM transmissions. I was a honda boy before this so i dont really know.
Shift Fork? Shift Linkage?
Help me out guys, i dont feel like messing with it so ill probably take it to a shop. If you have a good idea what it might be can you tell me what i should expect to pay. Thanks
If you want to IM me on aim its pdiddysgst thanks

How much am i looking at spending for labor of putting it in?

Start with the easiest solutions first, check the cables and linkage on the trans...1st check the cables and make sure their 100%, pull the cotter pins out and move the cables in and out by hand under the hood. If thats ok, check the linkage on the trans, pull the linkage that stands vertical back and forth toward the front and back of car, thats the neutral linkage. If it moves freely and is doing its job of pulling the other linkage in and out of the trans, then you know its not the trans and the problem is between their and the shifter, if it is jammed then start jacking your car up because its an internal problem and the trans has to come out.
