Yesterday i was driving around not running my laser hard or any thing and as i made a turn from a stop in first gear i think i was accelerating fast to pull out if front of a truck it made a little grinding noise hardly noticble then as i was leaving walmart their parking lot it about 3 inches higher thn the street i pulled out a lil quick to get across the street and it hit hard i dont think it bottomed out or any thing but then there was the grinding noise again but alot worse. right now it grinds bad only when accellerating a little heavy and if i shift into 2nd quick and just started while going into third i can drive it fine still with out it grinding but if i drive it very very nicely and thats no fun also startng on hill will always make it grind and trying to launch it even at low rpms makes it gring what do you guys think it is. do i need a new tranny or what :laser:

does it pop your gear off when grinding?

have you checked that the transmission is perfectly bolted all the way around? the tranny mounts in place and everything...?

it goes into gear perfectly fine and stays in it just makes this horrible noise when u give it alot of gas. and yes its bolted up good i just finished rebuilding the engine a month ago and didnt drive it for 2 of the weeks cuz i was outta the country its got about 700 miles sience it was put back in i put a new clutch pressure plate and tob. im thinking one of the teeth on a gear broke off or something but i dont know. :laser:

Pull off the end cover on the trans and check the 30something MM nuts on the shafts. If they back off, you will get horrible grinding noises. Likewise if the shaft bearings decide to obliterate themselves (happened to me, OUCH.)

also when its making the grinding noise not all the power is going to the wheels its impossible to make the tires even slip it was rainy the other day and the power dont go to the wheels at all.
