I have 2 quarts of amsoil (crushed smurfs as dave says) I was debating on ordering another one and trying that or buying some of the syncormesh.

Anyone used amsoil?

I've tried in 6 different Threads to get a DEFINITIVE answer on whether Synthetic ANYTHING is OK in our Trannys vis a vis the Viscous Couplings, lack of GL-4 spec, etc, etc, - Here goes a seventh try...

BTW I went with Valvoline Multi Grade Dino Tranny Fluid - It was all I could find with an OK for GL4 or 5 detail on label - No complaints - Shifts great hot or cold. I have Valvoline Synthetic in Rear End & Transfer case.

I have heaveyweight shockproof in the xfer and rear.

So you went with dino oil huh? I'll look into that also.

The VC should be fine, it's sealed. I've not heard of synthetics doing damage to seals; I've also not heard of a VC leaking. I don't know if that goo inside will flow.

For the cost, I'd say try the Pennzoil. Even if you throw it away -and I doubt you would- the whole box full will be less than a bottle of synthetic woop-a-de-doo racerboy whoopbutt shit.

Dam skippy!
I run pennzoil in both my talon and my eclipse and have never had a drop of problems out of it. Shifts smooth and no grinds.

YAY!

I've always used BG Synchroshift with no problems.
