Hey guys, kinda new to dsms and all, but im kind of in a bind right now, Ok i was driving to school, and i came to a stop, I shift into 1st, but then i cant shift into 2nd or and other gear after that while the car is in motion. So i ride it out to school in first, park it there, and come back in like 3 or 4 hours, start up the car and start driving, now it shifts fine in 1st and second and once in a while into third, but when i put it in 4th, the gear grinds/vibrates and as soon as i give it gas, the shifter pops out of fourth. I dont know if its the slave because when i depress the clutch the rpms drop as they should, and the clutch does grab good still. If any of you guys can help me out id really appreciate it, thnx

Edit: Ohh BTW its a 2G nt 5spd. (Eclipse)

the syncros are pretty much shot, you might end up replacing them or get a used or new tranny, you might try some pennzoil syncromesh tranny fluid, it might help a little bit

Ayte, ill check that out.. you dont think B&G Synchromesh is good? i dont know, i just heard thats what the dsm guys are using, and is it gonne be tough to replace the synchro? im guessing its the 4th gear synchro cuz thats the gear that pops out, thnx alot neways

good but not a miracle, you will still have your problem..

unfortunately, more can be wrong than that. intermediate shaft for instance could be crap - causing it to pop out of gear.. depending the age, you might just want to consider a full rebuild.

Like i said in the other post you started, TRE is close to you (about 200 miles). A price on a full rebuild (new synchros, hubs, sleeves, etc) ranges 800-1050.

If you are interested in doing the work yourself, check this out.
